WHO WE ARE

DSST Public Schools is a network of 16 middle and high schools working to transform urban public education by eliminating educational inequity and preparing all students for success in college and the 21st century in Denver and Aurora, Colorado.

We foster school communities where our students and staff become the best versions of themselves. As part of a values-driven organization with a deliberately integrated community, our schools serve students from all walks of life. Our six core values-- Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Doing Your Best, Curiosity and Courage-- are truly embedded in everything we do and are central to our strong academic results.

At the core of our approach are strong and meaningful relationships, fostered in small schools, that ensure every student and staff member is known and valued for their unique contributions. Through this  approach, we operate many of the top middle and high schools in Denver and Aurora. But our true success is all of our graduating seniors are accepted into college or post-secondary programs. Join a team that’s making an impact!

our TEAM

Home Office

We strive to make sure that our students and teachers have all the resources they need to be successful. Home Office works not just on background logistics such as operations, facilities management, and curriculum development but also maintains a focus on the people that make us who we are: our students, staff, families, and community. This work includes providing tools for college access and success, community advocacy and engagement, and people development opportunities.

We have the following departments:

  • Finance
  • Human Capital

Teachers

Our teachers are at the core of what we do. From creating a warm, inclusive school culture, to leading data-driven, rigorous instruction, our teachers joyfully work hard to serve each one of our students. Guided by our belief in the human condition, our teachers commit to students so they are fully known and affirmed for their unique story.

We look for individuals who want to make a difference in the following contents:

Apprentice Teachers

DSST's Apprentice Teacher Program builds a yearly cohort of educators committed to working in high-performing, integrated public schools. Our Apprentice Teachers work alongside a strong mentor teacher in a STEM subject to prepare them to take on their own classroom the following year. We believe that anyone can become a great teacher with the right support.

Seasonal Coaches & Electives Teachers

Educating the whole child is fundamental to DSST’s view of the human condition--we believe in giving our students every opportunity to explore their passions so that they are supported in pursuing all of their dreams, whatever they may be. Varying by school, some electives are only offered one to two trimesters, switching out to give our students as many opportunities to try exciting new things as possible. From competitive sports like soccer and basketball to elective classes like robotics and drama. These roles are part-time and seasonal.

School Leadership

We firmly believe that leadership matters--our school leaders are key levers for success. They set the strategic vision for the school, hire high quality teams, develop values driven school culture and lead data driven instruction practices. From schoolwide systems implementation to smiles for each student--leaders at DSST embody our core values in every moment.

Our school leadership roles include the following:

  • Associate School Director
  • Athletic Director
  • Dean of Students
