About Us

Meet the School Director

JacobBurdette2-2024Jacob Burdette taught English for 1 year and AP Biology for 5 years in Kentucky and Denver before joining DSST in 2020. He began his leadership career as a Director of Curriculum and Instruction and has served as an Associate School Director and School Director in Training at DSST: GVR High School. Jacob is the 2025 Core Value Award winner for Integrity. In March of last year, Jacob joined the AST Owls and quickly fell in love with the community. He is excited to call ASTHS home and to lead in the community in which he lives.

Jacob has degrees in Sociology and Women’s and Gender Studies from Berea College and is currently working toward a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Western Governor’s University. He and his partner Fabian live in Aurora and love exploring the nature of Colorado together!
