JOIN Families Advocating for Student Success (FASS)

The purpose of FASS is to enrich the educational experience of DSST GVR students through the leadership of parents and guardians. Our goal is to increase parent and guardian involvement by building strong partnerships rooted in collaboration around decision-making processes and school programs and activities. It is our hope that FASS will amplify the voices of DSST GVR families. Although this group will determine their focus areas for this school year, we anticipate that they will host events during the school year, serve as family ambassadors in the community, and raise funds to support school initiatives.  CLICK HERE TO JOIN FASS! .

Opting Out of Assessments

Families who wish to excuse their student from participation in one or more of the state assessments may do so by filling out the district’s opt-out application in Parent Portal from October to February.

We encourage our students to participate in all assessments because they provide valuable information to families and educators that show whether students have mastered grade-level content and are on track to graduate prepared for the 21st century. Results from these assessments inform where Denver Public Schools can improve curriculum, instruction and leadership in order to ensure that every child receives an equitable education and is on a path to success.

Transportation

My Ride @DPS

Bringing safety to all aspects of the student experience is priority. In partnership with the district we are making the scanning on and off the bus required. Transportation is excited to bring a new and innovative technology to out parents and community this year. An app is available that will make some key safety and informational features available right on our parent's cell phone. This app is called My Ride and is part of a larger part of the wheels of safety. Parents will now have access to route information, late bus notifications, and scan on/scan off student information
