We require all new families to attend the orientation as it will be interactive and will give families the opportunity to meet a large number of teachers and staff.

The New Student Academy (NSA) for incoming 6th graders is an opportunity for students to learn the ins and outs of DSST. During NSA, they’ll get a chance to meet new friends, learn how to use their lockers, understand dress code and interventions and will ultimately be well prepared to begin the year. New Student Academy is mandatory for all incoming 6th grade students.
When: Monday-Wednesday, June 7-9; 8:00a-11:00a

We believe uniforms foster unity and community. We want our students to focus on what truly counts— the content of their character and not necessarily what clothes they have on. We are working on improving our Uniform Policy and updates will be posted soon. While it may change, our current Dress Code is HERE.

1. Our summer plans coincide with the New Student Academy. What do we need to do in order to ensure that my child does not lose his/her spot?
We understand that summer vacations are sometimes planned many months in advance. If you find that your student will not be able to attend New Student Academy, please contact our Front Office Manager, Leonardo Ruiz at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss arrangements.
2. Are students required to wear uniforms during New Student Academy?
Yes. Students are required to wear uniforms and abide by the dress code - you will learn more about this and the ordering process at orientation. Uniforms can be purchased at www.dsstknights.com.
3. Is transportation available during New Student Academy?
No, unfortunately transportation is not available during summer school. Many of our students use RTD or, if you live relatively close, ride bikes to and from school both during summer school and the school year.
4. Will lunch be provided during New student Academy?
No. Lunch will not be provided during summer school. Breakfast; however, will be provided to students.
