Parent Resources

Parent Portal

Denver Public Schools (DPS) offers parents the Parent Portal, a program that allows you to access accurate, current, and confidential information about your child’s school attendance, grades, class assignments, and more. Please see the attachments below for the Parent Portal Agreement, which must be signed in front of a school staff member to be valid, and a quick reference guide from DPS. Please contact the Parent Portal Hotline with questions: 720-423-3163.

Note that the Parent Portal is separate from the Student Portal, which allows students to access their own information. Students may contact their Deans with questions or if in need of assistance. Learn more about the Parent/Student Portal by downloading the Parent Toolkit: English, Español. The Portal Team has also coordinated a variety of training resources for parents/guardians. Please visit their website for additional resources.

Science and Tech Parents Group

The Administration, Staff, Teachers, and other DSST: GVR Parents would like to welcome you to the DSST: GVR Science and Tech Parent Group (STP) Webpage.

DSST:GVR encourages parents to be involved with their child's education. Studies consistently show that the more involved a parent is, the better their child does in school. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in the STP which focuses on helping parents utilize their talents, energy and resources to support DSST: GVR's efforts to provide every child with an outstanding education.

All parents are automatically members of this group and are welcome at each meeting. The Parent Group meets the first Tuesday of every month while school is in session from 6:00 -7:30pm in the Student Union, Room 214.

Peanut Free Campus

As you know, GVR HS is built on a foundation of respect and responsibility.   To both of those ends, and specifically to protect students with severe peanut allergies throughout the building, we are moving to operate as a peanut-free campus effective immediately.

We ask that no peanuts be brought into our school. Foods sent in for snack, lunch, or any class event (including advisory parties, field trips, etc.) should be carefully checked to make sure they are peanut-free.  Families can help ensure that our school stays peanut-free by reading packaging labels and reminding children not to share food with others at school. We need to make sure that there is little opportunity for a child to be exposed to foods that could harm him/her.

For more information, please read the letter below. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact the school.
