While we will communicate when necessary, we want to ensure that we do so regularly and for you to be able to expect information on a certain day. So, every Tuesday, we'll send The Tuesday Times. Once a month, we will send an expanded, newsletter edition through Flyer with pictures and other exciting additions. The first will come next Tuesday, but after that will always be on the First Tuesday of each month.

Welcome to week 2 of E-School 2.0! As we noted last Friday, we had an exciting and successful first week and we are looking forward to growing and improving this week. As you and your student continue to get into the groove of online school please continue to let our school and your student’s advisor know how we can continue to support and help. We know this is a challenge for us all, and all of our families appear to be rising to the challenge. We are partners and want to help in anyway possible.

Early “Release” Schedule Thursday, September 10th & 17th - 12:45pm Dismissal
On two consecutive Thursdays, September 10th and 17th, DSST: MTV MS will have shortened schedules with each day ending at 12:45pm. The reason for this is to allow for our teachers and advisors to get increased time in reaching out and communicating with families and students. In the Spring, we heard from families that one way we can improve is through increased and more frequent communication around student progress. On these days, staff will be taking time to utilize Flyer to share progress reports with families and to make individual calls to families of students in most need of support. Our hope is that by taking advantage of these days we will set ourselves up to have more frequent and consistent communication around progress and support for the rest of the year. Thank you for your support on these days!
Strong Attendance for First Week!
We have amazing families who are working hard to get their children up and ready to learn each and every day. We have nearly 98% of students engaging at some point and over 93% of students who are attending all of their classes each day. Thank you for being the BEST co-teachers! We are hoping to continue to increase our attendance numbers, let's aim for 98% each day next week!
Virtual Home Visits
Your partnership with us is important to student success. We want to hear from you on how best to partner together to support your student. Advisors have begun scheduling virtual home visits and will continue this for the next two weeks. Please make time to connect with your advisor for 15-20 minutes via your student Microsoft Teams account to help them learn how they can have a strong partnership wiht you and your student this year.
Advisors will send a Flyer message the week of August 31st to check in with families. Please connect with your child’s advisor with any questions or concerns. We love hearing from our families!
Sharing Student Progress
Beginning September 10th and 11th we will be sending out updates on individual student progress to families though Flyer. These messages will come directly from your advisor and will include a comprehensive view of grades and missing work concerns.
Mandatory Tutoring Calls
Beginning this week, you may receive an additional attendance call that says your child must attend Mandatory Tutoring online from 2:45-3:15pm on Mon/Tues/Thurs and/or Fri. Please communicate with your child's Advisor if you have any questions.
Important Dates for Families:
Science kits and Literature Pick-Up: Our staff has worked hard to gather materials for Science and English classes. Pick-up will happen by car in the same way that laptops were handed out.
