Checkout Process with Social Distancing:

In alignment with state and district health guidelines, we want to ensure this is a safe and healthy process for everyone. With that in mind, the entire check out process will be conducted in a car line, adhering to the following requirements:

  • We ask all families to follow the attached map to ensure this is as smooth as possible.

  • Please expect to stay in your car for the duration of this process

  • Family members must wear a mask when interacting with staff members. This is a requirement of Denver law.

With the support of Denver Public Schools, we will make sure these lines move as quickly as possible, but do expect  some traffic and delays.

What to Bring:

In each car line, we will have stations to turn in all technology and other items borrowed from DSST.   Please see the map at the end of this letter for more details.

All students are required to turn in all technology borrowed from DSST. This includes:

  • DSST Laptops

  • DSST Chargers

  • DSST HotSpots (if applicable)

  • Calculators

If you need technology for summer school, we will be in touch with you about that. In the meantime, all technology must be returned to DSST on your check out day so that we can ensure every student has technology to learn with next year. Tech loss fees will be charged to students who do not return their technology on time.

Additionally, your student may have some other items borrowed from our school. Please return these items as well:

  • Athletic jerseys and equipment

  • Any materials loaned for clubs or activities

  • Any classroom books

We will also plan to safely hand out specific items to families as you go through the line, including:

  • Items left in lockers

  • Middle School: End of year award certificates. Final report cards will be mailed the following week

  • Please note that High School yearbooks will be delivered to students in the Fall

With health and safety in mind, lost and found items will not be available during check out. We will keep these items secure and stored in the school to be available to students next year.

Closeout is an important time to ensure any outstanding fees are paid before leaving DSST and the district.  These fees are important to funding our program, and you might pay your fees here or by visiting our school website or calling the school to pay over the phone.  If you have any questions or concerns about any of this, please reach out to our front office team who can support you.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Monica Burkin at 303-524-6340 leave a message and she will return your call as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support in this process and throughout E-School. We look forward to seeing you!

With gratitude,

Josh Hugo & Eva Rodrigues
