CGHS Welcomes New 2021-2022 DSST Hornets!
Welcome New Hornets, as a student at DSST CGHS, you have so much to look forward to - expect to be challenged with rigorous academic core classes, a STEM focus, robust electives opportunities, and opportunities for internships and a senior project. Every one of our students will have an internship in their junior year with an organization of their choice (DSST students have interned at places like Google, major airlines, the UC Anschutz Medical Campus, and more). Students interact with technology on a daily basis and will be assigned a touch screen laptop for use in school and at home for their coursework. We complement our rigorous academic program with great social and extra-curricular experiences, athletics programs, electives and clubs such as Theater, Computer Science, Art, PE, Music Production, Engineering, Speech & Debate, Student Council, Yearbook, Improv, Animation, BSA, National Honor Society, Pride Club, and many more.

Do I need to bring in my student’s inhaler or epi-pen if they carry it with them at school? No. You just need to bring in their paperwork. Then, the school nurse will call them down to review their self-carry contract. However, you can have two: one your student self-carries and one to keep in the health office.
Can I email my school nurse the medical paperwork? Yes. Please email it to Kelly_smith@dpsk12.org
Does the school nurse check emails during the summer? No. Please make a doctor’s appointment to have your health provider fill out the forms and review your immunization record.
What is the phone number for the school nurse? She currently can be reached at 720-423-8028.
What if my child is just starting high school and needs help with their diabetes management? I will contact you and the student to review the child’s care at a school.
Do I really need to turn in immunization paperwork again? Yes. Unfortunately, it is not always up-to-date in the system, maybe your child is missing one immunization or an exemption form, if needed is required each year.
How do I know if my child is up-to-date on immunizations required for high school? Call Denver Health Immunization clinic to schedule an appointment or ask questions at 303-602-3520, check the form above or check out the School Based Health Clinic at no-cost to DPS students at 303-602-8958.
What if I need a doctor to fill out the medical paperwork or get immunizations?
Again, the school based health clinics through Denver Health are no-cost to DPS students. They have locations open over the summer. Please call to ask questions or make an appointment at 303-602-8958.
