Byers Update 5.15.20

Happy Friday Falcon Families!

I hope you have had a wonderful week! We are still going strong with E-school and are proud of our students’ investment in their learning through this complicated time! Thank you for all of your support. This will be my last Friday communication. Moving forward, all relevant updates pertaining to the end of year and next year will be in our Weekly Newsletter published each Wednesday. A few updates and reminders for today:

Next Week (5/18-5/22): Next week will be our last full week of E-school. Please encourage your students to check their IC gradebooks and ensure that they are caught up on work, reaching out to their teachers and advisors and attending office hours Friday if they need more help.

5/25-5/29: The week of the 25th will be focused on closing out the year. Monday is Memorial Day and there will be no school. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (5/26-5/28) will be all about traditional close-out activities, and opportunities to finish strong for all students including remediation for those who are behind and enrichment for those who are on track. Friday we will close out grades and share joy together. Students should plan to attend each day and advisors will help direct them individually to focus on what they need to complete before we finalize grades at the end of the week.

6/1 & 6/2: The final days of school (6/1 & 6/2) will be focused on close-out as a group each morning and scheduled 1:1 conferences between your student and their advisor. Please reach out to your students’ advisor if you’d like to attend alongside your student.

Project Create Celebration!!! Our very own Falcon, Subira Abuaba won the Project Create Challenge last week with a wonderful song about joy! Check her out here! Please encourage your student to submit an entry for this week’s challenge on Superheroes and Villains!

Thank you again for your commitment to your students continued education and to our Falcon Community. We are better, and stronger together, and I deeply appreciate you. Have a fantastic weekend!
