Online Registration for 2021-22
Current DPS families – save time during fall registration by updating your student’s information online! By completing this process using your Parent Portal account, you can avoid paper forms and save time at the school during the fall return. There are two windows during which current students can register online for 2021-22:

  • The “Early Bird” window, April 26-May 28

  • Current year, July 26

To register online, primary legal guardians of current DPS students must have an active DPS Parent Portal account. Visit myportal.dpsk12.org to sign up, or to check that your account is active and ready.

For more information on how to complete online registration, contact the front office or visit schoolchoice.dpsk12.org.

**New DSST: College View Middle School families -- you too can register online! Contact our front office for more information.**

**Are you new to Denver? You can enroll and register directly in your neighborhood school. Locate your neighborhood school by typing in your address using School Finder, then contact the school for enrollment information. If you would like to enroll in a school other than your neighborhood school, please visit schoolchoice.dpsk12.org to get started.**

CVMS Families:

As you know, next week we will begin our CMAS testing window. Please review the information below for important information on CMAS testing and our in-person schedule during the testing window.

Need-to-Know:

  • If your student is attending in-person, arrival is between 7:40am-8:00am. Please ensure your student is on time for all in-person days.

  • ALL students, whether testing or working independently online, will report to their advisory from 8:00am - 8:20am for attendance and overview of the day.

  • After advisory, all online students (including opt-outs) will be expected to work independently on their assignments.

  • Plan to send your student to school with:

    • Required: Face mask, Laptop and charger, water bottle, and 2 sharpened pencils

    • Optional: A book or magazine (in case they finish a test early)

Schedule

  • Due to the hybrid nature of this year’s CMAS administration, there are many moving parts to the schedule for the next two weeks, which include a combination of regular instructional days and test days. The chart below outlines IN-PERSON DAYS ONLY from 4/12-4/23.

  • Please review to help determine which dates your student should come in-person. All school days not listed for your student will be 100% online.

  • If your student arrives in-person on the wrong date, you will be asked to pick them up.

  • Please plan to connect with your student’s advisor if you have any questions about which days are in-person.

2.19.21

End of Trimester IAs/Finals. will take place on:

  • Thursday, 2/25 (early release = dismissal @12:30pm)
  • Friday, 2/26 (early release = dismissal @12:30pm)

Now, more than ever, assessment is an important part of our instructional practice as assessment will drive our daily instructional practice to best meet the needs of our students.

Due to the nature of E School/hybrid learning, please read below for some points about Tri1 IAs/Final:

  • The majority of students will be testing virtually – read on for some exceptions!
  • Students who attend hybrid school and qualify for test accommodations will be invited to test in-person both days in order to better meet their accommodation
  • For the handful of students who will be in-person for testing, we will be providing breakfast and a snack (students can also bring breakfast or a snack from home).
    • Note: We will not have lunch due to early dismissal @ 12:30pm.
  • If a student is absent or otherwise misses a test, they will be invited to complete a make-up test online on Monday, 3/1 (non-instructional day).

What can I do at home to support my student during Tri1 IAs/Finals?

  • Make sure that your student is aware of the testing schedule and that they sign onto their tests on time
    • Students should expect to be signed on and in session from 8:15am-12:30pm.
  • Ensure students have their materials (scratch paper, writing utensils, charged computer ready.)
  • If possible, have students test in a quiet and uninterrupted environment.

If your student will not be present during the window of dates listed above, please reach out to the Front Office at 303-524-6320.
