Welcome! We are thrilled to invite you to join us at DSST: College View High School Class of 2025. We look forward to seeing you contribute to our community in meaningful ways and supporting you and your family as you continue your journey to college. Due to the ongoing changing nature of our society and our ability to host gatherings, the dates below may change. We will post updates on our website and send out family communications accordingly.

ORIENTATION

Orientation will cover vital information including key foundations of our program for both students and families, guidance and support for the steps in the enrollment process, and provide student a space to begin to build our community. One parent/guardian and student must attend a Virtual Orientation for DSST College View High School at the DSST College View High School website sent via email to each family.  Please come and join us on the following dates

NEW STUDENT ACADEMY

New Student Academy is a unique, meaningful opportunity for new-to-DSST students to meet their new classmates and staff members, build community, and learn the ropes of DSST.  Attending New Student Academy is the best way to prepare for the start of the school year, and it is required for all new-to-DSST students. 

New Student Academy will be held In-person on 

  • Thursday, August 12th, 2021 at 8:00am - 3:00pm
  • Friday, August 13th, 2021 at 8:00am -3:00pm

FAQ's

  • Will New Student Academy be virtual or in person?

    • New student Academy wil be in-person but may change due to the pandemic. (All families will be notified if there are any changes.)

  • Our summer plans coincide with New Student Academy. What do we need to do in order to ensure that my child does not lose his/her spot? 

    • Contact the Front Office at (303) 524-6320 to inform the front office that your student will not be attending new student academy. 

  • What are dress code requirements for New Student Academy?

    • We are updating our Dress code policy for the 2021-2022 school year these updates will be shared with families during Orientation

  • Is transportation available? 

    • DSST College View High School does not provide transportation during the summer or school year but do offer RTD monthly passes at a discounted price for students. 

  • Will lunch be provided during summer school?

    • Yes Beakfast and Lunch will be provided for both days.

  • What School Supplies are needed for New Student Academy?
    • Supplies will be provided

 

ANNUAL FAMILY UPDATE (REGISTRATION)

All information for current students must be verified with DPS every year. We will not have paper copies this year, it must be completed online. Annual Family Update can only be completed by the parent/guardian listed in the primary household of the student record. Parents/guardians must have an active DPS Parent Portal account; check for an active account or create an account at myportal.dpsk12.org. All students must complete Registration in order to receive a laptop and charger.

  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Proof of Address (if it has changed)
  • Immunizations
  • Physical if playing sports

Supply List 

Required Student Supplies

These Supplies need to be turned in to Advisory the 1st day of school.

  • 1 box of Kleenex

Items Students Should Take to Every Class Day: Bring these supplies the 2nd week of school.

They may be asked to use any of the items below at anytime.

  •  (2) #2 Pencils
  • (2) Pens– Black or Blue Ink
  • (1) Eraser
  • (1) Highlighter
  • Headphones
  • Scientific Calculator
  • (1) 2-inch Binder with Pockets
  • (1) Hole Punched Folder (For 2-inch Binder)
  • (1) Package of Binder Dividers (For five subjects)
  • (2) Pack of Loose-leaf Paper, Kept in Binder ( College Ruled)
  • (2) Composition Notebooks
  • (2) White Board Markers (Per Trimester )
  •  (1)Sticky Notes
  • (1) Pack of Index Cards (Blank or with lines)

Additional Items:

  • (1) Backpack to carry books and laptop. Before computers  will be issued to students, all students will be required to have a backpack or other case that is designed to carry and protect their laptops.  Cases may be inspected and approved by a member of the DSST IT department. Keep in mind that spending $100 for a case that will last you several years  may save you several $100s over those years in charges for a damaged laptop due to poor protection.
  • If necessary, two separate bags can be purchased in order to meet the computer case standards discussed below. The dimensions should accommodate at an 8”X 11” computer.

Math Courses

  • Texas  Instruments TI84, TI 84 Plus ( Required Courses  Algebra 2, Pre-calculus and Calculus )
  • Texas Instruments TI 84  Plus or any scientific Calculator (All Math Courses before Algebra 2)
  • Stylus Pen for Touch Screen

11th Grade American Literature

  • Spiral Notebook (Snapped into Binder)
  • Binder
  • College Ruled Paper
  • Dividers (1 pack)
  • Pencils

Digital/Visual Art

9th Grade -Intro to Visual Arts

  • Sketchbook – 6x10’ or larger (can be any form of a notebook/folder with non-lined paper)
  • Sharpies – 1 fine point, 1 ultra fine point
  • Pencils – A minimum of 6 wooden #2 pencils to contribute to the class
  • Optional – additional pencils, markers, paints, or personal art supplies

Grade 11 – Intermediate multimedia arts Tri 1
